There are endless ways to love the Cedar Valley on April 21!
1. Get involved with your church, ministry, or organization.
2. Just walk up on April 21 (10:45-11:30 at Five Sullivan) and get plugged in!
3. You and your family/friends can plan your own way to reach out and share the love of Christ with someone in our community. Some examples…
- Do you know a person struggling with a health problem? Maybe you could cook for them and visit them. Or take them a few flowers.
- Is there a neighbor down your block that might delight in an unexpected offer of kindness to wash their windows?
- Do you visit a business regularly where employees might be touched this day by a kind gesture of your appreciation and love?
- Could you invite some of your family and friends to pick up trash with you in a park or neighborhood?
- Could you give a single parent a few hours off by offering to babysit?
- You could call Jean Seeland at the Volunteer Center of the Cedar Valley and she could match you to a nonprofit agency that could use volunteer help. The number is 272-2087.
- What else can you think of when you look around you?
Pick one of your ideas for Love the Cedar Valley, April 2! Why? To demonstrate the love and kindness of God in a real and practical way and to tell the recipient that you're doing this to share the love of Christ…no strings attached!
Share what you're going to be doing that day if you're planning your own outreach. Email Amy Williams at awilliams3538@yahoo.com to tell us how you plan to serve in love that day and how many people you're taking with you! The list of projects and outreaches already being planned can be found under the "projects" tab on this website.
*Some of your ideas may go outside of the 12:00-1:30 Kindness Explosion time. That's okay! We do hope that groups and individuals will plan to be done by 1:30 to join together for closing worship at Five Sullivan Brothers, Waterloo.
