OUTREACHES
Longfellow Elementary, indoor painting and repairs (9a.m.-3 p.m.)
Soccer games, McKinstry Elementary soccer field, Waterloo- snacks, chairs, and cheers for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Longfellow team soccer games.
House of Hope, Waterloo- painting indoors (9 a.m.-noon), building playground in backyard (start 9a.m.), and raking, cleaning, and playing with kids (12:30-3 p.m.)
Exceptional Persons, Inc.- Waterloo- yardwork and repairs (8:30-3:00)
Exceptional Persons, Inc.- CF- visit from a UNI group of students to play games with residents. (1-3 p.m.)
Yardwork for military family- CF (1-3 p.m.)
Prayer room- Orchard Hill Church, CF- group praying for the community, (1-3 p.m.)
Cookie Giveaway- Giving away homemade chocolate chip cookies in several locations (1-3 p.m.)
Free lunches- (all 1-3 p.m.) Giving away free lunches in several locations
Fresh carnation giveaway- (1-3 p.m.) at several locations in the Cedar Valley.
Cedar Bend Humane Society- walking dogs, general help (1-3)
Nursing home visits (1-3 pm.) Several nursing homes.
Lincoln Elementary, CF- group giving goodie bags to staff on Friday, Apr. 28.
Northeast Iowa Food Bank- group volunteering (9-noon)
May Day baskets- made by a church community and delivered to retirement homes.
Boys n' Girls Club- toothbrush and toothpaste giveaway (1-3)
Icee giveaway- Washington Park and Lincoln Park (1-3)
Habitat for Humanity- Work at two locations from 8:30-3:30 p.m.
Gift baskets to fire stations- (1-3)
Water or soda giveaway (1-3 p.m.) Several locations.
Flower Seed Packet Giveaway- (1-3) Several locations
Car Wash- (1-3) rained out
Catholic Worker House- repair steps and wash windows
Movie/popcorn giveaways- (1-3) Prepared by one church community and delivered in their neighborhood.
Planting marigolds with students from Expo- Waterloo (10 a.m.- noon)
Keep Hudson Clean Day- trash pick up in Hudson (9-noon)
Free haircuts- one church picked up people at the Women's Shelter and took them for free haircuts and manicures at LaJames on Thursday night.
Met our military- another church gathered members at the Waterloo airport to welcome back our military a few weeks back.
